TRIATHLON

New for 2026. A swim, cycle and run through the iconic Blackwood Valley scenery. Teams of 3 (or solo individual triathletes) compete across the following legs:

Short, sharp and thrilling. The swim leg takes place at Blackwood Bend, a spectacular private property on the banks of the Blackwood River. Swimmers enter the river around 1,500m upstream of Winnejup Bridge and make their way downstream, exiting at the bridge. A short run up the riverbank brings you to the clearly marked handover zone, where your cyclist is waiting.

The same scenic, demanding course as the Five Leg Relay - a short gravel section, then bitumen roads through rolling countryside with steep climbs and fast descents that reward preparation. The finish brings riders back onto gravel as they approach the Bridgetown Sports Ground, with crowds waiting to cheer the handover to the runner.

The same finishing course as the Five Leg Relay. From the Bridgetown Sports Ground, the route winds through Four Seasons Estate and alongside the Railway track, mixing straight stretches and inclines that test pace, focus and footing. Watch your footing on the shorter trail section - a downhill stretch offers some relief before the final climb up Whittell's Road and back to the oval for a tough, triumphant finish.

Looking ahead: as the standalone Triathlon grows, we're exploring a longer individual run leg in future years - watch this space as we build #To50AndBeyond

Post Event celebrations will be held at the finish line at Bridgetown Sports Ground with food stalls, bar, live music and prize presentations.
