TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT

Message from the Traffic Director

Please read the following notes carefully, so that you can be aware of the traffic flow on the day. lt is also worth noting that there will be traffic control officers and marshals all over the course to assist traffic to move smoothly and safely around the course. Please be patient, drive safely and, most of all, enjoy your day.

This year we have made substantial changes to the course, these changes include:

  • Not starting the race in Boyup Brook.

  • No lunchtime break / central hub at the Jayes Road picnic area.

  • Jayes Road Bridge will not be closed to traffic in either direction so no spectators will be allowed to spectate from the bridge.

  • Winnejup Bridge will be closed to vehicles to allow for spectators from about 9am to 12 noon on race day.

  • Through traffic heading east on Winnejup Road will be detoured along Flax and Jayes Road and over the Jayes Bridge.

  • Through traffic heading west on Winnejup Road will be detoured east of the bridge via Tweed Road to Bridgetown.

  • The main hub will be at the Bridgetown Sports Ground where we will have registrations, entertainment, food and coffee vendors, run start, event finish and presentations at the earlier time of 2pm.

  • The five leg relay, canoe and equestrian legs will start in the Jayes Bridge vicinity.

  • The triathlon, and the swim and cycle legs for both events will start in Winnejup.

Around two kilometres up the hill turn left into Les Woodhead Avenue where marshals will direct you to parking. Les Woodhead Ave will be one way in from 11am until 2pm approximately. Access to the Boyup Brook Road during this time will be via a gravel track north of the football club-rooms. Marshals will assist with directions.

From the Bridgetown Sports Ground to five leg canoe and equestrian start turn left into the Bridgetown / Boyup Brook Road and head north east around ten Km. Then turn right onto Jayes Road and travel approximately 19 Km where traffic marshals will direct for either canoe drop-off and start, horse float parking or canoe finish and pick-up and equestrian start.

From the Bridgetown Sports Ground to triathlon start turn left into the Bridgetown / Boyup Brook Road and head north east around four Km then turn right onto Winnejup Road. Continue east along Winnejup Road for approximately 15 Km before turning left into Scott / Meares Road. Follow the marshals directions for about 1.5 Km through onto private property where you be directed to park. The five leg relay swim and cycle leg starts are in a similar location but will park on the right shortly after entering Scott / Meares Road.

JAYES BRIDGE AREA TO SWIM & CYCLE START

To travel from the Jayes bridge area, to the swim and cycle start Scott / Meares Road Winnejup, head back along Jayes Road in a westerly direction for approximately six Km before turning left into Flax Road and travelling approximately nine Km to Winnejup Road where marshals will direct you to turn left and travel about a kilometre to Scott / Meares Road where you will be directed to parking.

WINNEJUP RETURN TO BRIDGETOWN SPORTS GROUND

When returning from Scott / Meares Road Winnejup to Bridgetown Sports Ground, in an effort to facilitate less vehicles interacting with cyclists we request that all vehicles head west on Winnejup Road for about 8.5 Km and then follow traffic marshals directions and turn left onto Elwins Road. After 8.5 Km on Elwins turn right onto Kangaroo Gully Road and follow it around for about four Km before turning right onto Gifford Road. Continue straight on up the hill for a couple of kilometres where marshals will direct you into parking at the sports ground in Les Woodhead Avenue.
